One savvy customer's "hack" might just help you make up your mind and save a bit of money when it comes to one of the pub chain's beloved meals. Macey Newberry dropped her "secret" to success on TikTok with her insider info on how to enjoy a hearty favourite without breaking the bank at her local 'Spoons.

Macey (@bigmacnew) enthused to her 42,000-strong following about the vast culinary choices available. "As you all know, Wetherspoons has a big variety menu," she began, before listing an array of international dishes on offer.

She then put out a teaser to her captive audience, pondering: "Why is it with the Mexican food you can only get nachos and it just stops there?" Not leaving them in suspense, she continued: "I like to load them up - so this is a life hack if you want to get loaded nachos - simply order a plate of nachos and now listen up because this is how you save a lot of money."

The TikTok star, while munching away in delight, let her followers in on the ultimate tip as she revealed her knack for customising the perfect plate of nachos at the bar. And here's the clincher for those torn between a five-bean chilli and crunchy nachos why not have both?

Here's Macey's hack in all its glory. Once you've asked for nachos, have the server throw on a five-bean chilli on top but here's the twist get the chilli added as you would for a jacket potato from the deli plate section.

And the cost benefit? Macey puts it plainly: "If you had bought both meals it would have cost you 15 quid - but I've just saved you eight quid. You're welcome."

Amongst a stream of praise pouring in, one grateful follower echoed the sentiment of many when they said: "I'll definitely order this next time!" Another eager fan pleaded: "Please say I can add sour cream cause this will easily be a 10/10! "

To which Macey assured that adding sour cream is indeed an option, revealing her own dollop was just "hiding" on the plate. A third reminisced: "I remember about 10 years ago when I worked there they had something called Mexican Monday. The nachos are always 10/10."
